Amazing! Don’t know if you remember us, Jon, but we met on the bus in Costa Rica and you introduced us to Location Indie. When I saw the title of your article in my feed I was sure you were talking about Sara. We became good friends through Medium. The traveler circle gets tighter:)

Thank you! The video goes in depth into her story of how she got there, too, if you decide to give it a watch.

This was awesome, Jon! Bravo for getting out there and documenting people who chose some radical paths in life. I love it. Was Sara concerned at all about the safety of the Colombian countryside? I’ve been to Bogota and rumor is that the country is pretty dangerous in certain areas.

Hey Cory, thanks for watching! Yes certain areas of Colombia can be rough, but Sara wasn't concerned about safety in Jericó. Relative to other parts of the region and country overall, it's been insulated from all of that due because the local population is quite affluent.

She wrote a little bit about that in this post: https://saraburdick.substack.com/p/living-in-rural-colombia-what-is

I imagine there are some roads you wouldn’t want to drive on your own in Colombia. As long as you stay aware of your surroundings, I don’t think you’d run into danger if you decided to drive it on your own. Your biggest adjustment would probably be adapting to the driving style more than anything else.
